Your Better Business Bureau has identified the following businesses as offering services and products, which have resulted in numerous complaints alleging misleading ads/offers, unsatisfactory services and misrepresented products.

AA-Notary, LLC formerly Closing Quest, LLC -- BBB Rating: F
615-515-5542 & 615-893-8858
25 Century Blvd, Ste 405, Nashville, TN 37214 -- www.closingquest.com/www.aa-notary.com
AA-Notary, LLC contracts notaries to perform closing tasks for long distance real estate transactions. 71 complaints received by the BBB are from notaries saying they have not been paid for their services. To date, the company has only responded stating they are not able to make the payments and all complaints remain unanswered or unresolved in BBB files. It is the position of BBB that Closing Quest changed its name to AA-Notary as a means to conceal their history of complaints.
Protection Services Unlimited - BBB Rating: F
615-228-1701 PO Box 160325, Nashville, TN 37216 -- www.psubodyguards.com
Bodyguards Needed! FREE Training! Paid Apprenticeships! Sound too good to be true? Well, it has been for many consumers that fell for the advertisements placed in classified sections of newspapers around the country. Consumers responding to the ads later found out that the training was not really "free". Instead, consumers were asked to pay $100 for a background check, $200 for "free" training materials, and up to $415 for a website hosted by International Bodyguard Network (You can find a report about IBN at www.nashville.bbb.org) so that the consumers can actually be hired as independent contractors. Protection Services Unlimited has no jobs available and is in the business of selling training materials, memberships and websites. Job hunters are urged to check with their own state regulators to see if PSU's Omni Institute will satisfy their state requirements for licensing as a bodyguard. It doesn't in Tennessee!
Summerstone Nursery/Autumn Ridge Nursery -- BBB Rating: F
931-668-7991 & 931-474-3387
8627 Morrison Hwy, Morrison, TN 37357 - www.summerstonenursery.com
81 Union Hill Rd., McMinnville, TN 37110 - www.autumnridgenursery.com
Both of these businesses are registered with the Tennessee Secretary of State listing Sam E. Womack as the registered agent; and both have a principal address listed as 81 Union Hill Rd., McMinnville, TN 37710. Is it a coincidence that both of these companies have a similar pattern of complaint? The BBB thinks not! There is a perennial problem in the 242 complaints (228 for Autumn Ridge and 14 for Summerstone) that consumers have filed with the BBB. Consumers report that when the merchandise arrived what they received was dry, dead sticks. One consumer who ordered an apricot tree stated "what I got was a clump of roots with a peach pit attached."
Bob Neener Military Certificates -- BBB Rating: F
615-215-7445 716 Rolling Acres Rd., Smithville, TN 37166 - www.citationexpress.com
This online store offers the sale of replacement military certificates to veterans who have lost or damaged their original certificates. This Middle Tennessee company fails to deliver! Bob Neener Military Certificates should work on some meritorious service of their own.
Real Living Properties, LLC -- BBB Rating: F
931-906-9055 1503 Fort Campbell Blvd., Ste. B. Clarksville, TN 37042
Real Living Properties, LLC is in the business of property management for absentee landlords, many of whom are deployed U.S. soldiers. The BBB, landlords, tenants and the TN Real Estate Commission have made numerous attempts (to no avail) to reach Marjorie Gwen Abbott, the owner of Real Living Properties, LLC. A quick visit by BBB staff shows that Real Living Properties, LLC has made a move.... Destination unknown! Landlords whose rent payments have not been forwarded should contact the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656.
Listen Up, aka Loud'n Clear -- BBB Rating: D-
800-431-4417 PO Box 4245, Pacoima, CA 91333 -- www.getloudnclear.com
You've seen the TV ads that claim you'll never miss another word with the Loud 'n Clear, a small device that looks like a cell phone ear piece. The ads claim the device "turns ordinary hearing into extraordinary hearing" and "so powerful you can hear a pin drop across the room." BBB purchased the Loud 'n Clear and tested it just as the commercial demonstrated; however, what was loud and clear about the Loud 'n Clear is that it doesn't work as advertised. For our final test, the Loud 'n Clear was evaluated by Vanderbilt University's Hearing Lab and ran through a battery of tests. The results? Save your money, the Loud 'n Clear is a nice little toy, but not much more than that.
All My Sons Moving & Storage of Nashville, Inc. -- BBB Rating: D
931-248-8500 2709 Locust Street, Nashville, TN 37207 - www.allmysons.com
So, you have to move to a new location in Nashville? If you value your stuff you might want to carefully consider who does your moving. Complaints indicate the moving crew does not appear to have knowledge of what needs to be moved and fails to perform the work within the promised time frame (the company charges by the hour!) forcing the consumer to pay higher fees. Some consumers report missing inventory and/or damage to personal items including the resident's property. In 2007 this company received 19.2% of all BBB complaints involving the moving industry in Middle Tennessee. During the first six months of 2009 the complaints have skyrocketed to 54%.
Elite Auction Sales, Inc. -- BBB Rating: F
615-896-1682 2349 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130 - www.eliteauctionsales.com
Ok...here's how it works: Elite Auction Sales contacts consumers who have placed classified ads offering items for sale and offers to sell the items through its' auction services. Promises are made during the sales presentation that Elite Auction Sales would advertise the item for sale via its' website, that there are routinely 3000 bidders at the auction and promises to sell the item at a reserve price the seller is seeking. Sellers are also told that inventory contains very few items of similarity. BBB complaints reveal smaller numbers of bidders appear at the auction, items were auctioned for half the promised reserve price, and the company's inventory contained numerous similar items. Sometimes the company failed to pay the seller for auctioned items, failed to provide vehicle titles, and return keys for items that were not sold. This kind of customer service and sales tactics needs to be going, going.... gone!
What are BBB Ratings?
The BBB rating system relies on an A+ (highest) through F (lowest) letter-grade scale. These grades represent BBB's degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner and will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer complaints. BBB Reliability Reports help consumers more easily and quickly identify and compare the reliability of businesses based on BBB's unbiased evaluation. The ratings system relies on a proprietary formula that takes into account 16 factors based on objective information and actual incidences of a business's behavior that have been verified and evaluated by BBB professionals. Individual business ratings are prominently displayed at the top of BBB Reliability Reports. Consumers can research more than four million businesses online, free of charge, at www.Nashville.BBB.org.
